Tom Dwan to feature in Hustler Casino Live's $1M buy in games this May

Renowned online poker icon Tom Dwan is set to join the star-studded lineup of the $1 million buy-in Hustler Casino Live games next month, revealing plans to participate for three consecutive days, as confirmed by the show’s co-owner Ryan Feldman.

In a groundbreaking move last May, the immensely popular poker show hosted its inaugural $1 million minimum buy-in livestreamed cash game at Hustler Casino in Los Angeles. Over the course of four days, avid poker enthusiasts were treated to unprecedented action, witnessing colossal pots unfold, including a monumental $3.1 million hand clinched by Dwan.

Scheduled to commence on May 28th, this year’s event will see the former Full Tilt Poker luminary aiming to surpass his own record by clinching an even grander pot. However, Dwan faces formidable competition from a formidable lineup comprising Ethan “Rampage” Yau, Tony G, Dan “Jungleman” Cates, Doug Polk, and the notoriously aggressive Alan Keating, renowned as one of the loosest players in any game, adding an extra layer of excitement to the Hustler Casino Live spectacle.

Feldman disclosed that Polk is slated to participate in Day 2 of the Million Dollar Game on May 29th, just a day before the commencement of the $25,000 buy-in World Series of Poker (WSOP) Heads-Up Championship, an event in which he secured a runner-up finish last summer. Polk, the founder of Upswing Poker, who will be journeying from his residence in Austin, TX to Los Angeles, expressed uncertainty regarding his plans to travel to Las Vegas for additional heads-up poker action following the high-stakes encounter in Southern California.

Recalling last year’s exhilarating milly game at Hustler, Polk found himself embroiled in a memorable $1.1 million pot against Dwan, sparking controversy on social media as many accused Dwan of executing a slow-roll or nit-roll tactic when he deliberated extensively with a powerhouse hand—an accusation vehemently refuted by “durrrr.”

While the complete daily lineups have yet to be finalized, the anticipation mounts for the second day of play, which is slated to feature Polk, Dwan, Charles Yu, Tony G, Santhosh Suvarna, Jungleman, and Brandon Steven, promising a riveting livestream with high stakes and a vibrant cast of personalities gracing the table.

Dwan’s inclusion in the upcoming $1 million games comes as a pleasant surprise to many, particularly in light of recent accusations leveled against him by Peter Jetten alleging non-payment of an old six-figure debt. Dwan addressed these allegations on the PokerNews Podcast in March, asserting that they had been misrepresented. Jetten, who subsequently deleted his accusatory tweets, informed his followers of a favorable arbitration ruling settling the debt.

The full lineups for all four sessions are expected to be unveiled to the public at some point next month, further heightening the excitement surrounding this eagerly anticipated event.
